APAV visits the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in partnership with UNFPA
The Portuguese Victim Support Association (APAV) visited the Democratic Repulic of Timor-Leste in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The aim of this visit was to promote the sharing of good practices, making links with local partner institutions, and workshops were held to share knowledge and experiences. APAV was represented by João Lázaro (president), Carmen Rasquete (secretary general) and Frederico Moyano Marques (technical advisor to the board).
"Not your fault" compilation supports APAV
The unha.pt platform is promoting the compilation "Not Your Fault", a digital album that brings together seventeen original songs, including contemporary and free music compositions.
The album "Not Your Fault" features songs by Carincur, Lantana, Rita Silva, Joana de Sá, Diana Combo and Kaveh Sarvarian, Inês Tartaruga Água, Mariana Camacho, Inês Condeço, Ravenna Escaleira, SORBD, Marta Rodrigues, Clothilde, Eunice Barbosa Quarteto, Marlene Ribeiro, Nazaré Silva, Mariana Vieira and Nádia Schilling; the cover is an illustration by Kruella D'Enfer.
"Recognize, Protect and React" is the motto for this album, which aims to raise funds for the Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV) through online sales. The compilation has a minimum price of €5, and eachtrack can be bought individually for €1.

NATIONAL STRATEGY FOR THE RIGHTS OF VICTIMS OF CRIME
The public presentation of the new National Strategy for the Rights of Victims of Crime took place in Lisbon on January 11th, in the auditorium of the Institute for Financial Management and Justice Equipment, promoted by the Ministry of Justice.
The presentation was made by Sónia Reis, from the Minister of Justice's office. The Portuguese Victim Support Association (APAV), which actively participated in the working group, took part in the round table discussion of the strategy, moderated by Dália Costa. The presentation of APAV was given by Frederico Moyano Marques, Technical Advisor to the APAV Board of Directors, in the presence of João Lázaro, President of APAV. The event was closed by the Minister of Justice, Catarina Sarmento e Castro.

Victim Support Office (GAV) Mangualde
The Mangualde victim support office (GAV) is already up and runnning on a soft opening basis. GAV Mangualde is the result of the partnership with Mangualde city counsil and it is the first office to operate in the premises of a health center.

APAV supports the WYD 2023
Within the scope of the Protocol established between APAV and the WYD Lisbon 2023 Foundation, APAV presents its action plan for the days of World Youth Day.
All the entities involved have been working hard to ensure that this event is experienced safely, peacefully and joyfully.
However, APAV's operation at this event is prepared to assist anyone who may be a victim of any situation of crime and violence, as well as to provide prevention tips for personal and property safety, acting in close cooperation with the different relevant authorities, such as Security Forces and Services, Civil Protection, Health, Justice and Diplomatic Entities.
APAV will have the following support services available, duly identified, with teams ready to talk at least in Portuguese and English - and resort to translation services if necessary:

At Colina do Encontro (Eduardo VII Park, next to the Marquês de Pombal Roundabout)

July 31st to August 4th: 8am to midnight
At Campo da Graça (Tejo-Trancão Park), in sectors A and D

August 06th: midnight-6pm
The support team is available to reach other locations within the city of Lisbon, but also in Santarém and Setúbal, host dioceses of WYD Lisbon 2023.
