Exhibition: 30 Years for the Rights of Victims | José Saramago Foundation
As part of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Portuguese Association for Victim Support, the José Saramago Foundation hosts the exhibition "30 Years for the Rights of Victims". This exhibition brings together a set of striking awareness campaigns, promoted by APAV throughout its history. The exhibition opened on June 24, with the presence of Pilar del Río (President of the José Saramago Foundation) and João Lázaro (President of APAV).The exhibition will be on display at the José Saramago Foundation (Casa dos Bicos), in Lisbon, until the end of July.

Webinar | An EU Victims Rights Strategy: the future of EU action for the reproduction of crimes
Victim Support Europe is co-organising a public live webinar “Strategy on Victims’ Rights: The future of EU action for victims of crime” with Ms. Saskia Bricmont (Greens MEP) to talk about the upcoming EU Strategy on Victims’ Rights for 2020-2024. Mr. Didier Reynders, EU Commissioner for Justice, will open the webinar.
The webinar will take place on Zoom on Tuesday 7 July 2020 from 3.30 to 5pm (CET) and will be in English.
The aim of this online event is to raise awareness of the first-ever EU Strategy on Victims’ Rights and its impact for future EU actions. We believe that the Strategy represents an important step for victims of all crimes and a successful implementation of the Strategy will have wide ranging benefits across our economies and societies.

APAV 30 Years | Piano recital with Jorge Moyano
As part of the celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the Portuguese Association for Victim Support, Theatro Circo in Braga will host a solidarity recital with pianist Jorge Moyano, on July 10 at 9:30 pm. The pianist will perform works by Chopin, Liszt and Gershwin. Through music, APAV offers to everyone who has shared the work and dedication of these 30 years. The ticket office reverts to APAV and tickets are available online and at the theater ticket office (10 €). The room capacity was limited, APAV and Theatro Circo comply with all public health rules.

June 28th | International LGBTI + Pride Day
June 28th marks the International LGBTI + Pride Day. Since 1990, APAV has been dedicated to supporting people who are victims of crime and their family networks, offering practical, psychological, legal and social support. The collaboration with ILGA Portugal, celebrated in May 2018, reinforced and improved the support that we provide concretely in relation to LGBTI + people. APAV marks the occasion with the launch of a new information brochure.

APAV publishes the magazine MISCELLANEA #10
On the 15th of June, International Awareness Day on Violence against the Elderly, the Portuguese Association for Victim Support presents the issue #10 of the Miscellanea APAV, a magazine promoted by APAV that publishes scientific and reflective articles on topics related to victims of crime or victim support.
This is a special edition that brings together exclusively articles on the theme of aging and violence against elderly people, having been developed within the scope of the Portugal Mais Velho project, a partnership between APAV and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. This edition of the Miscellanea APAV is illustrated with photographs by LUZIA.
