If you are or you were a victim of crime, you have the right to receive legal advice during your participation in the criminal proceedings, even if you do not have the means to afford such expenses.

If that is the case, you can apply for legal aid.
Legal aid can include:

  • The total or partial exemption from the payment of court fees - unit of account;
  • Being represented by a lawyer completely free of charge;
  • Being allowed to pay court fees or lawyer fees in instalments;

The request for legal aid is free and must be submitted to the Social Security services.
